I am the egg man, They are the egg men, I am the walrus Coocoo Cachoo. She’s a trip! From high upon her perch on Sonoma Mountain this rose colored glasses-in-a-bottle was just recently grafted over from Pinot Noir and we’re getting the whole kit and caboodle. It’s so exciting to see the potential of this site in its first year of being baby Grenache Blanc. While new to the program, it was clear from the day we brought the fruit into the winery that the Jurassique would be a staple to the Guthrie Family Wines lineup for years to come.
Although it is native to northeastern Spain, Grenache Blanc is best known for its role in southern French white wines and in particular as a member of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape blend. On the cool side of Sonoma Mountain the grape expresses it’s bright, refreshing acidic qualities which are enhanced by fermenting and aging in Flex eggs*.
Creamy and crunchy, the balance of the gods. Jurassique gives off loads of peach rings, white strawberries, and lemon pith. With just enough body to call it medium minus, but loads of acid that feels like the final *crane kick* in karate kid that won Daniel the fight.
*Please don’t sue us for using these song lyrics, The Beatles. John would have loved this wine.
Always minimal Sulfites added.
